Here she met Kirkpatrick who fell in love with her and made her his wife. He built her a residence within the mansion and named it Rang Mahal (Palace of Color). She bore him two children who were sent to England by the age of five and never saw them again because of the early death of their parents. A replica of a renowned painting of the Kirkpatrick children graces one of the walls inside the Palace.
